My name is Stefan Joseph, Director of Society 2001. Let me take this opportunity to introduce Society 2001 to you. Society 2001 was founded in 1998 by my uncle, Daryl Oxley and my Dad, Randolph Joseph. After the success of ACGS - Afro Caribbean Golf Society, which they were co-founders of, their new goal was to introduce golf to inner city kids - under the umbrella of Junior Eagle Club. Due to the lack of interest, it forced them to put Society 2001 on hold.
After we lost Daryl in 2007 - my Dad decided to re-launch Society 2001, this time, not as a golf society but as away to help Society members better their lives and as a memory to his friend Daryl Oxley.
In 2010 at a church business meeting, discussing finance for a new church, our conference was unable to help us at that time. We didn't know any organisation where we could get a bridge loan from. That is when I decided to take over the running of our Society - to change our financial situation.
Wouldn't it be nice to know that we belong to an organisation, whatever the situation is, we can help and solve it? Wouldn't it be nice to know that our ethinic group can also contribute something for this country? We truly believe Society 2001 is the organisation that whatever the problem, we would like to be able to shake hands to close the deal and put a smile on our members's faces.
Join us and let's change things together.
